Welcome to CCYC Cruising Fleet!

We are a social group of sail and power boaters who prefer going beyond an afternoon on the water and instead enjoy exploring our truly Great Lake. We consider cruising a group activity and a great way to foster new adventures, new friendships, and lasting memories.

We have a series of scheduled cruising events every year. Each cruise is organized and managed by a different member. Some cruises are overnight, some are long passages, and some are just for lunch and a swim. The calendar is full of different types of sails so you can choose the event that is right for you and your comfort level. For those who feel they would like some help or encouragement, we can even put you in touch with mentors that can help you along the way. Also if you feel you or your boat isn’t up to it, don’t let that stop you!  You can ride along with someone else, there are tons of people that could use another hand.

We also host our annual Dock Swap sail rally at the beginning of August. It's a joint sail-away event with another club on the shores of Lake Michigan designed to promote an active cruising community while advocating for green boating on the Great Lakes. https://www.dockswap.org/

In addition to cruising activities we share knowledge to develop competency in navigation, cruise planning, docking and sailing in various conditions. It's a great opportunity to learn skills unique to the cruising experience from seasoned sailors. During the off season we also host winter meetings with cocktails followed by boating-related speakers. 

It doesn’t matter if you have a  sailboat or powerboat; It doesn’t even matter if you have a boat. The only thing we ask is you bring your sense of adventure!
